On the 1st of October 2019 the VII Agrievolution Summit (Alliance for Agriculture Equipment Manufacturing Associations) about Mechanization of Specialty Crops & Skills Training and Education in agriculture, took place in Madrid. This meeting congregated the most relevant figures of the sector in order to deal the actual problematics that farmers are facing.
Professor Emilio Gil, as project coordinator, presented INNOSETA (www.innoseta.eu). He discussed the difficulties to be solved regarding the lack of education and training in the digital era, as about a 19% of farmers don’t adopt new technologies due to unawareness of knowledge. The main objective of INNOSETA is to “close the gap between research and daily agriculture practices in Europe”.
Prof. Gil also presented other projects about training and good practices in agriculture where UPC participates; TOPPS (http://www.topps-life.org), FITOVID, Perfect Life (www.perfectlifeproject.eu ), AgriCT (https://agrict.upc.edu) and Internet of Farming (www.iof2020.eu).
